Privacy Policy – MTB Controller

MTB Controller is an Android application for controlling DCC model railway equipment and configuring related application settings.

Information collected and transmitted

MTB Controller may transmit the following technical information to our server:

Application installation GUID – a randomly generated identifier created when the application is first installed. It is used to identify a particular application installation in diagnostic records.

Device UID – a technical identifier provided by the connected device. It is used to identify the device associated with diagnostic records.

Diagnostic and technical events generated during the operation of the application.

These identifiers and diagnostic events are used to diagnose technical problems, improve application reliability and provide technical support. The application installation GUID is generated randomly and is not derived from the user\'s name, email address, phone number, or other directly identifying information.

USB devices

MTB Controller communicates with compatible DCC equipment connected to the Android device via USB and DCC-prog. Data exchanged with the connected device is used to provide the application\'s control and configuration functions. The UID of a connected device may be transmitted to the our server together with diagnostic information.

Nearby Connections

When Nearby Connections is used, MTB Controller may exchange application and device-related data with another participating Android device. Nearby Connections is used to provide communication between MTB Controller devices and is not used for advertising or user profiling.

Local storage

The application installation GUID is stored locally on the Android device and is generated when the application is first installed. Application settings, configuration data, and operational state may also be stored locally on the device.

Diagnostic data and retention

The application installation GUID, Device UID, and diagnostic events may be stored together in our server database. Diagnostic records are retained only for a limited period. Older records are periodically deleted.

The diagnostic data is used for troubleshooting, diagnosing technical problems, improving application reliability, and providing technical support. It is not used for advertising or user profiling.

Data sharing

MTB Controller does not sell personal information. The application does not share data with advertising networks or data brokers. Technical identifiers and diagnostic data may be transmitted to and stored on our server for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Data exchanged directly with a connected USB device or another Nearby Connections device is not intentionally shared with unrelated third parties.

Security

Communication between MTB Controller and the server is performed over HTTPS. Reasonable technical measures are used to protect data transmitted between the application and the server.

Children\'s privacy

MTB Controller is not directed specifically at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children for advertising or user profiling.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the application functionality or data processing practices change. The current version will always be available at this URL.
