The cars with 240kW electric power transmission were built in three series of 250pcs.Designed to run fast trains and heavy passenger trains on main lines, in the 1960s operated on the entire CSD network with fast trains. Later they were moved to passenger trains. 41 pieces were reconstructed in 1980-90 by changing the engine to 831 series.   Decommissioned after 2010.
